Was at the Vancouver airport taking stock business photos for work and saw this guy in a suit walk past me. I non-chalantly scurried after him (and dragged ddsoul along with me) to take a candid business shot of him walking. Lucky I have image stabilized lens. works well without tripod in low light situations. I was on fully manual and slow shutter. Decided last minute to zoom into him creating the effect you see here. was tough keeping a steady hand while zooming because you have to estimate his final position while following his motion with the camera (much like a sniper following a moving target with his scope).

I'm probably going to use it for a banner design for our corporate website.

I've seen this picture before!!!!! Wow that's surprising.

Anyways, it looks really nice. The blue coloring and reflections make it look crystalline and delicate. It almost feels like he's walking into a warp that computerizes things. To me, this is a metaphor. A business man loses touch with reality and is being sucked into his lonely computer job. :(

All you need is a couple strips of binary imposed and it would really be complete in that metaphor.

that's really freaking awesome. Im impressed that it was all done with the camera--"analog" so to speak... nowadays with all this photoshop crap, people like to do stuff like this with photoshop instead of the REAL way.

Wow, this is brilliant. I love the motion of the shot and the blue is really eye catching. It makes it appear that the guy is warping through time so to speak.

the IS lenses are very good. I can't imagine life without mine. really handy at 1/30 and 1/15 at full zooms. i really do recommend getting one. nor does it suck up alot of battery juice.

i love your gallery! you certainly know your colours

Thanks. I just got a CANON EF 17-35MM/2.8 L USM which I'm having fun with. Got it barely used at a great price so couldn't pass it up. Been eyeing a CANON EF 28-135MM/3.5-5.6 IS USM as maybe my next lense. For now I'm mainly using a Sigma 28-300mm/3.5-6.3 and also have a Canon 28-80mm macro/3.5-5.6 USM although I've not been able to find any info about it anywhere for some reason. Similar lenses yes, this particular one, nada.
I'm thinking that the IS may be a feature that for me is worth while, and why I've been looking at them now I know they exist :giggle: I'd probably end up getting that one and a 75-300 with IS to replace the sigma eventually, when I can afford of course! LOL

Thanks for taking a look at my gallery! Always appreciated. I try to capture on film how I see the world around me, but still a lot of technical things using a camera I'm slowly learning. I've mainly taught myself and done reading here and there thus far.

nice. i don't think i'll be getting any L series lenses just yet. my next lens is probably going to be a Sigma EX 2.8 100mm Macro. I've always wanted Sigma quality. too bad IS and USM only come on Canon lenses..

I'm upgrading to a 10d very soon. going to sell my d30 for about $1000 and put that towards the 10d. and who knows.. maybe i might check out the 300d before getting the 10d. although i don't really like silver bodies hehe.

I was origianlly going to get the one below it but when this one presented itself, I just couldn't say no. Ah well, to pay it off now :giggle: I know about the USM though, I perfer them now I"ve been using them. WIll have to see when I get and IS one. I've never used one as of yet.

Yeah, probably the way to go. I'm in no rush when they're selling for $2500. Eventually will get one but really can't see giving up film entiresly at all. Ijust love it too much.
I know what you mean about the silver bodies. I perfer the black as well, although it's really only cosmetic. Ah to be visually oriented! :lmao:

be careful if you're planning on buying a used IS lens. the older IS lenses where tempermental. If you mounted them on tripod they'd start over compensating and the image in the viewfinder would go crazy. they've since fixed that in pretty much all the recent IS lenses.
